Jennifer L. Johnson is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Legal Action of WI (“LAW”) where she’s been employed since 2016. She started her legal career at LAW as a Staff Attorney who worked to remove the legal barriers to employment faced by her clients. She currently serves on the State Bar’s Board of Governors (“BOG”) representing District 12 (Milwaukee). She has served on the Communications Committee since 2019. She is a former board member of the Public Interest Lawyer Section (“PILS”) and also served as their liaison to the Board of Governors. She was previously the BOG liaison for the Children & the Law Section. She was recently appointed to the State Bar’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Oversight Committee. She is a former board member of the Wisconsin Association of African American Lawyers. In her personal time, she has volunteered with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program since 2018. Most importantly, she is the mother of an energetic toddler.
