Ann McGowan Porath has been the managing attorney in charge of intake for the Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP) at the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland since 2004. In this role, she manages the VLP and intake staff to ensure effective intersection to maximize delivery of service to clients and pro bono experience of private attorneys. She has also developed and implemented a complete major re-organization of both intake and pro bono efforts in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness of both service delivery component. Ms. Porath is the recipient of the 2016 C. L. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award; the 2016 Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Women Honoring Women Award; the 2014 National Association of Pro Bono Professionals Tanya Neiman Pro Bono Professional of the Year Award; and the 2007 Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Trustees Award in recognition of outstanding service to the Bar Association and the community. She earned her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland in 1982.
