Beatriz Romero-Escobar is a senior investigator with the Office for Civil Rights of the Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Romero-Escobar joined the Office for Civil Rights in 2005 and has been charged with providing technical assistance and conducting outreach to assist child welfare agencies and other recipients of federal funding in meeting their obligations under federal civil rights laws enforced by OCR. Ms. Romero-Escobar performs reviews, investigates complaints, and provides training to covered entities. She is originally from Colombia, South America, but resided most of her adult life in Anchorage, Alaska. She is a graduate from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
