La Mer Kyle-Griffiths is the Director of Training and Complex Litigation at Still She Rises, Tulsa. La Mer has been a lifelong public defender amplifying the voice of the poor in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Washington, Oklahoma, and will soon be the Assistant Public Defender for the Santa Barbara County Public Defender office in California. She has litigated at all levels of legal practice including death penalty trials, as well as arguing two appeals cases to the Kentucky Supreme court. She has taught for several years in the areas of training, sentencing, implicit bias, leadership, trial skills, juvenile practice, mitigation, and DNA, among other topics. She has been an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa College of Law, Seattle University College of Law, Boston College, and is current faculty at the National Criminal Defense College, Gideon’s Promise, and Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop. La Mer is an enthusiastic supporter to all those who want to grow in their skills to assist our clients. She is also always planning her next adventure with Tom, her Chucks-wearing, crusading, capital defender husband, and three girls who all learned to crow “Acquittal” early!
