Rabiah Alicia Burks is a media relations, communications, and marketing strategist who has dedicated her career to educating the public about criminal justice reform issues through traditional and non-traditional methods. Rabiah regularly pitches and secures major media placements by developing and maintaining solid relationships with press. She also leverages opportunities to connect social and celebrity influencers to advance the goals of criminal justice reform. Rabiah serves as the director of communications for FAMM, a national criminal justice reform organization, where she oversees all aspects of communications, marketing, media relations, social media, and video production services for the organization. Ms. Burks is also a member of the National Press Club, National Association of Black Journalists, and the Washington Association of Black Journalists. She holds bachelor’s degrees in history and African American studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
