Lora M. Rath is the director of the Legal Service Corporation’s (LSC) Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE). LSC, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, is the single largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans in the nation. As the OCE director, Lora manages a staff of approximately 30 attorneys and fiscal specialists who conduct on-site and desk reviews of programs receiving LSC funds to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as restrictions, which accompany LSC funding, and provide training and technical assistance. Before joining OCE, Lora was the director of policy & planning for the Veterans Benefits Department of Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), a service organization that advocates for quality health care and benefits for our nation’s veterans.
