Thomas H. Reed is a graduate of Northwestern University and the Cornell Law School. He has been a member of the Milwaukee Trial Office of the Wisconsin State Public Defender since 1982, where he has handled a wide range of criminal cases. He has served as the regional attorney manager since 2000 for an office of approximately 60 attorneys. He is currently the vice chair of the Milwaukee County Community Justice Council. He is a member of the board of directors of the Milwaukee Bar Association (MBA) and is also a member of the MBA Courts Committee. He is currently a member of the board of directors for the Milwaukee chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a member of the advisory council of the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors Research Institute (NRRI), and is a steering committee member of the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force. In addition to various other bar-related and teaching experiences, he has been an adjunct professor of law at The Marquette Law School since 1999.
