Shagufta Ahmed

National Partnership Program, US Census Bureau

Shagufta Ahmed is currently on detail with the National Partnership Program (NPP) team with the Communications Directorate at the U.S. Census Bureau. At Census, Shagufta works with faith-based organizations, Middle East and North African (MENA) organizations and communities, and federal agencies to build partnerships that raise awareness about the 2020 Census. When she is not on detail, she is a senior policy analyst for the U.S. Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), where she has worked for more than 10 years. At OIRA, Shagufta is responsible for OIRA’s oversight of regulations and information collections issued by the Department of Treasury and federal financial agencies. Shagufta is also the lead on good regulatory practice engagements with MENA countries. Before graduate school, Shagufta was a senior research assistant with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Shagufta received bachelor degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, and a Masters in Public Affairs with a focus on Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University.
