Aimee Surma received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. Aimee is the program manager for the Detroit Health Department Lead Prevention and Intervention Program. She oversees the case management of children with elevated blood lead levels residing in the City of Detroit. In addition to overseeing the case management activities, she coordinates care with providers and other community partners to ensure children are living in lead safe environments. Aimee presented at the 2019 Biennial Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH) Conference and is an active MI-AIMH Board Member. Her interests include building a trauma-informed lead program that addresses the impact of lead-poisoning on the community as well as the providers.
